Who do you think you are? How much do you know about your roots whether they be the ancestors whose DNA you carry or the people whose struggles and successes influence your life in both obvious and subtle ways? Families come in many forms and have a wide variety of lived experiences, and we will work to honor the diversity of those roots throughout this summer program.
During this crash course in family history and genealogy, you'll explore the art of interviewing family and community members to record their memories before those stories are lost to time. You'll also work to expand your family tree by scouring census records, searching newspaper reports, and using other online resources to learn more about your family and the times and places they lived in. Finally, you’ll bring one of your ancestors to life in a creative way by writing and performing a monologue or digital story dramatizing a key story you learned during your research.
Campers should bring a rough family tree with whatever family history information their family already knows for the first day. Additional information about this will be sent to participants closer to camp.

REGISTRATION FEE: $25 per student
Registration requires a fee of $25 per student, which is refundable upon request subject to the terms and conditions listed below.
To register multiple children for our camp, simply fill out one order form and "purchase" as many spots and deposits as you need. Please be sure to indicate the names and ages of each child you are registering in the appropriate box, and which camp weeks each one will be attending.
Your registration is only valid if you pay the refundable deposit, electronically at the top of the registration form. Registrations may be adjusted/canceled if we do not receive your deposit in a timely manner or your child is not within the age range of the requested camp week.
REFUND POLICY:
One registration fee of $25 (refundable upon request) plus a small processing fee is required for each camp registrant, whether registering for one week or multiple weeks. (In other words, separate deposits are NOT required for multiple camp weeks. However, multiple deposits are required for multiple children.)
WE CANNOT CONFIRM YOUR REGISTRATION UNTIL WE HAVE RECEIVED THE DEPOSIT. Upon request, within ONE week of your child's last day of camp, your deposit can be returned to you after your child has attended the camp week(s) for which they are registered; many families elect to donate their deposit to help fund the camp.
Should the registrant fail to log in for a confirmed program, cancel the registration less than one week prior to the scheduled start date, or fail to request the refund within one week of the child's last registered day of camp, we will process your deposit into our general operating fund. Once the deposit has been forfeited, all future confirmed registrations will be void and another deposit will be required to re-register for additional weeks of camp, pending availability.
